A Handmade Life (Official Selection of the 2011 Ventura Film Festival) is a documentary of Rick Mecagni (Me • CANN • ee) who in his search to 'build' his freedom tells a tale of adventure and challenge on the local level. In a lesson for the global 'us,' Rick creates a grand domicile of found and recycled materials teaching lessons of fiscal responsibility and thrift. Mr. Mecagni shows beauty is created and literally formed 'from earth' in this story of very common human trials overcome producing extraordinary results in the Southern California backdrop of Ventura County.
